Bluefin Tuna
The captain grew up commercial tuna fishing! We do extremely well with our bluefin catch rate and our tuna trips are very popular. Most trips we will be fighting something large! Everyone on the charter gets a chance to reel in the giant bluefin tuna. Typically we rotate people on the reel multiple times before we get to harpoon and land the fish!
An average battle of a really large tuna could take around 3 hours! When the tuna is running, we get set up and prepared to put in the time to have a successful catch.
We have a permit that allows us to fish commercial (>73in) or recreational (<73in) with passengers. This means we can keep a tuna under the 73in commercial size limit. When we catch a recreational size tuna we either tag and release it or send you home with some tuna steaks!
This is a very happy group of 6 that got to take home some tuna steaks after a long day fishing and catching this beutiful recreational sized tuna!

All commercial sized tunas thats are caught on a charter and are prepared for market are property of Hooked On Fish Charters, but you are the angler so there will be many opportunities to take photos with the commercial sized tuna. We also offer a 10% return trip discount on a charter where we catch a commercial sized tuna.
For the extreme case we can’t put you on a fish we offer you 20% off a return trip. Please note: this has never happened.
Note: HMS (highly migratory species) and NOAA quotas or restrictions may affect our targeted size tuna.

Deposit Fees, Gratuity & Cancellations
- All trips require a deposit at the time of booking to reserve the day and time of your charter. The deposit is non-refundable if cancellation occurs within two weeks of the planned trip.
- If you cancel your trip two weeks before your booked charter date, your deposit will be refunded in full
- In the case of a cancellation due to bad weather or other conditions, deposits are fully refundable or can be applied toward a new date based upon availability.
** 50% deposit of the total rate is required to book and reserve your charter date.
**All deposits are applied to the cost of the the chosen charter rate.
Gratuity
- Manditory gratuity of at least 20% is required to be given to the mate or captain working on the boat at the end of the charter. This is the industry standard.
Disclaimers
- Trips may be cancelled due to weather, safety concerns, or any reason that affects the safety of the vessel and the guests on board.
- Federal illegal drugs are prohibited on board the Ashley Victoria. ***Please note: Laws are different in Federal waters than they are in certain States***
- Hard Liquor is prohibited.
- Customer is responsible for replacement or repair of lost or damaged equipment due to negligence.

- Finally, the targeting of fish is dependent on availability, season and Federal or State regulations. Hooked On Fish Charters believes in and supports sustainability and conservation. We follow all Federal and State guidelines.
