Shark
A Shark trip is a truly different experience! Fishing on Jeffreys Ledge will give us the best opportunity to fish for shark. While we wait for the shark to bite our bait we can fish for haddock, cod, pollock, hake, cusk, redfish and baitfish. An average round trip to the fishing grounds and back is 56 miles.
You will never know what you can come across on any trip! Sometimes we can hook into a bluefin tuna instead of a shark.
Shark trips are similar to groundfish trips but instead of focusing on groundfish we will be targeting shark.
Many rules and regulations apply to catching sharks. The targeting of shark is dependent on Federal or State regulations.
Hooked On Fish Charters believes in and supports sustainability and conservation. We follow all Federal and State guidelines.
If you book a shark charter during tuna season, the captain will have tuna gear aboard the boat just incase we come across some tuna during our charter, but the trip’s focus will be on shark.

Deposit Fees, Gratuity & Cancellations
- All trips require a deposit at the time of booking to reserve the day and time of your charter. The deposit is non-refundable if cancellation occurs within two weeks of the planned trip.
- If you cancel your trip two weeks before your booked charter date, your deposit will be refunded in full
- In the case of a cancellation due to bad weather or other conditions, deposits are fully refundable or can be applied toward a new date based upon availability.
** 50% deposit of the total rate is required to book and reserve your charter date.
**All deposits are applied to the cost of the the chosen charter rate.
Gratuity
- Manditory gratuity of at least 20% is required to be given to the mate or captain working on the boat at the end of the charter. This is the industry standard.
Disclaimers
- Trips may be cancelled due to weather, safety concerns, or any reason that affects the safety of the vessel and the guests on board.
- Federal illegal drugs are prohibited on board the Ashley Victoria. ***Please note: Laws are different in Federal waters than they are in certain States***
- Hard Liquor is prohibited.
- Customer is responsible for replacement or repair of lost or damaged equipment due to negligence.
- All commercial sized tunas that are caught on a charter and prepared for market are property of Hooked On Fish Charters, but you are the angler so there will be many opportunities to take photos with the commercial sized tuna. We also offer a 10% return trip discount on a charter where we catch a commercial sized tuna.
